Free and Fair Online Gambling for Denmark

European Union member states have been told to meet with certain guidelines with regard to free operations when it comes to dealing with internet casino legislation. Even though the European Union’s rules require observance, many EU countries are trying to get out of trading their virtual gambling operations by the free trade guidelines.

While many EU countries have looked for legal excuses to avoid compliance, Denmark has come up with a plan for free and fair internet gambling. Not only does their plan comply with the proposal of the law, but also with the spirit in which the law was proposed.

Denmark has found a system for free trade when it comes to online casino gambling as well as a solution that permits fair competition on all the levels of gaming that are provided. The rules that Denmark plans to set up include aggressive rules for gambling operators across the board.

Denmark is the first country to react in a positive way to the rules issued by the European Commission and there is hope that other countries will also follow their example, and find a way to introduce their gambling laws to free and fair competition. Presently, other Scandinavian countries are still making attempts to protect their state monopolies, while trying to also comply with the rules laid out by the EU.

Although Denmark is hoping to open their gambling market to international operations, there is one small problem as far as the EU is concerned. The EU rules state that if an internet gambling operation is already certified in another EU member nation, then it should be able to function freely within the European Union. Denmark, while permitting international operators to operate in their country, needs the foreign operators to apply for a Denmark gaming license. One wonders if the European Countries will ignore this minor difference, since this is the first member state to try to conform to the regulations that have been put out.

The virtual gambling world has been going through somewhat of a decline recently, although it has been forecasted that the online gambling market will soon be gaining momentum. One of the causes for the expected growth in the internet gambling market is the initiation of new markets in the European Union. Although the EU still has a long way to go before they can state that their free trade regulations have been fulfilled, a step ahead in the right direction has certainly been taken.

While observing the future of online gambling in Europe, Ralph Topping, the CEO of one of the top online gambling industries, told the Times that they were extremely sure about the next two to three years in Europe.
